Opinion about TOEFL

The TOEFL test is one of the English tests that has been commonly followed by many people in all parts of the world. A toefl test or ability test in understanding English is needed, there are about 140 written questions consisting of listening, readiing. The Tefl test is measured by the score set by the toefl committee itself. range of TOEFL scores - the average Indonesian with a minimum S1 education level is very volatile. There are even some who do not know what and for what is the TOEFL (they read with: "tufl"). Not so with the English language majors during college. Minimum they know, what is the TOEFL. However, the TOEFL score of a student or even an English major does not guarantee high.

The purpose of TOEFL

What is the purpose of people taking the Tefl test:

·         There is a purpose as a condition to enter a university abroad.

·          Some are used for the requirements of the thesis trial of the policies that have been made by the campus.

·         A toefl certificate is used as a condition to apply for a job.

·         there are those who only want to know the extent of their ability to speak English.

TOEFL- are testing other things besides the English level, which is the academic skills. These skills are critical to your

performance in the classroom environment, and your academic success. For example; the TYPEWRITING skills in the TOEFL writing, which is a critical skill to score 20+ in writing. For some students -like me- who come from a developing country, we haven't been exposed to the typewriting concept when we were children. That really was an obstacle to me when I began to prepare for the

TOEFL. But this is not the case for many first world countries, because they teach these skills to their alimentary pupils.

Another thing that these tests do is to measure your ability to convey your own thought in the Speaking and Writing sections. That really depends on how well-educated person you are, and how much knowledge and background you acquire during a long period of time. If you are the kind of person that knows one thing about everything, "The Cyclopedia Guy" you will score better in (indicate your personal opinion) on writing and speaking sections.

The common mistake that many people do is they take the test for just the purpose of the admission process, or because it is required in their schools, or even to get to a job. However, the test is designed to stretch you up and improve many of your skills, or at least, make sure that you have those in the first place. To conclude, the test is a great way to determine someone's English level. A good tool that measures your ability to fit in a classroom in one of the top university in the world. A chance to enhance your skills, or acquire new ones. Moreover, gives you a the opportunity to expand your knowledge about diverse topics and explore new subjects
